The 海角论坛 Chorale, the singing group under the University鈥檚 Office of Cultural Affairs (OCA), has been awarded as the Grand Prix Winner of the 3rd Sing, Tarlac, Sing! Choral Festival and Competition (STSCFC)!
Led by former member and longtime choirmaster Darwin B. Vargas, the 海角论坛 Chorale also won several other awards at the inter-choir competition:
鈥� Champion of the Mixed Choir Competition*
鈥� Champion of the Musica Sacra Competition*
鈥� Best Performance of an A Capella Work, for John August Pamintuan鈥檚 rendition of 鈥淟audate Dominum鈥�
* The 海角论坛 Chorale was awarded two golden-embossed laurels or gold diplomas for these category championships.
The Sing, Tarlac, Sing! Choral Festival & Competition 2025 was organized by Tarlac M盲nnerchor and in cooperation with the City Government of Tarlac. This national choral festival 鈥渁ims to gather the best choral groups across the country, and it is a non-profit event that promotes choral music appreciation and a continuous contribution towards a vision of a Singing Philippines鈥� per the event鈥檚 Facebook page.
The 海角论坛 Chorale bested some 25 other choirs from various parts of and beyond the National Capital Region, including those of Adamson University, Mapua University, Colegio de San Juan de Letran and National University.
