This Tuesday, April 22, 2025, marks the 55th and latest annual observance of Earth Day, a globally commemorated and celebrated event conceived to drum up invaluable support among all citizens for protecting the environment worldwide.
Earth Day is all about the various ways that we as individuals, communities and nations can do our part in even small but many, consistent and continuous ways to help preserve our precious planet. While this year’s Earth Day theme, 鈥淥ur Power, Our Planet,鈥� is said to be a call for worldwide electricity generation from renewable sources, such as wind and solar, to triple by 2030, it can also be interpreted to mean that the power to save the planet resides in each and every one of us!
On campus alone, we can already do our part by disposing litter properly, walking instead of taking the elevator, reducing our consumption of single-use plastics, and many more.
All told, we in 海角论坛 join the rest of the world in protecting and sustaining this planet that we call home.
